MazaoHub’s Big Moment at Nane Nane 2025 – From Humble Beginnings to a New Era for Farmers

If you’ve been with us for a while, you know that every Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition tells a part of the MazaoHub story. But this year… this year was something special.

Let’s take a quick journey back. In 2022, we were strangers to many. Our CEO was the only one who made it to the event in Mbeya, Nane Nane National Event; standing in our tiny booth with big dreams and a heart full of hope.

In 2023, The Ministry of Agriculture saw us, and we became part of Building a better tomorrow. Thank you Minister Bashe ; you have no idea what seed you planted in Mbeya in 2023. That year, we met the President herself—and it was Minister Hussein Bashe who introduced MazaoHub to her. It was a national stage in Mbeya Region, and we felt seen.

BBT in Mbeya 2023

In 2024, we came in Dodoma. This time, we had investors by our side and announced a major investments —still hard to believe, even today.

And then came 2025. From August 1st to 8th, we were at Nzuguni Grounds, Dodoma. The theme? “Choosing Good Leaders for Sustainable Development of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries 2025.” But for us, it was more than just a theme—it was the perfect backdrop for a defining chapter in our journey.

This year, we launched MazaoHub 2.0.2—our most advanced version yet. A fully automated, AI-powered farm management system where farmers and extension officers can work together seamlessly. If you’re an independent extension officer, you can now run soil tests with our kits and get instant reports once payments are confirmed. If you’re a farmer, you can access six powerful agronomy features and be paired with your own extension officer for season-long support as we call ourselves Tech and Touch. Real data, real people, real results—right from your phone.

And that’s not all. We also officially launched CropSupply.com—our integrated market platform. It’s our bold step toward connecting farmers directly with buyers, not just here in Tanzania but across the world. Maybe it sounds ambitious for a company that started with such a small booth in 2022—but if there’s one thing MazaoHub has taught us, it’s that small beginnings can grow into something extraordinary.

Why our launch was different

We decided not to have Corporate Giant as our Guest of Honour. Instead, we chose a farmer—our farmer—Mr. Shaban Manota from Manyara Region. He started with us when we were still testing and failing, but he trusted us. Back then, his yields and income were low. Today, he is one of our biggest success stories, and he stood before thousands to tell his journey. He reminded everyone why farmers are the real “bosses” of agriculture—the ones who can make or break us.

The booth that wouldn’t rest

From regional leaders to small-scale farmers, from ministry officials to international guests—our booth became a buzzing hive of curiosity and excitement. People came to see the MazaoHub App in action, to understand how CropSupply.com connects markets, and to talk about Soil health,  climate-smart solutions. They saw how farmers could become “tech heroes,” combining AI, soil science, and hands-on support to transform their fields.

Partnerships that open doors

We welcomed thousands of visitors, including regional and district commissioners from our operational regions and advisors to the President in food security. CRDB Bank explored how the verified farmer data we collect could power agricultural finance. Partners like SAGCOT and ACT brought new introductions—connecting us with organisations like PASS Tanzania. Every handshake and every conversation reminded us of one thing: transformation happens when we work together.

MazaoHub’s heartbeat

Our CEO, Geophrey Tenganamba, said it best: “We built these platforms for everyone—farmers, extension officers, input suppliers, processors, financial institutions, and government. Because agriculture works best when everyone is connected.” MazaoHub 2.0.2 processes data on soil health, plant health, and farmer profiles, making it possible for extension officers to deliver targeted, in-person support. This means lower costs, higher yields, and better market access for farmers—plus stronger value chains for the whole sector.

More than technology—it’s a movement

MazaoHub is part of the Building a Better Tomorrow (BBT) initiative, led by the Sixth Phase Government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan and the Ministry of Agriculture. Our work blends technology and “touch”—meaning we don’t just give farmers data, we give them people who care, guide, and walk the journey with them.

From that lone booth in 2022 to the double launch in 2025, our story is one of trust, persistence, and believing in the impossible. And if this is what we can achieve in just four years… imagine what’s next.

To every farmer, partner, investors and supporter—thank you.
