diligence process to gain deeper insights into MazaoHub’s core activities and
evaluate our impact on smallholder farmers in rural areas. This visit served
not only as a platform to showcase the transparency and readiness of our
operations but also as a testament to our ability to meet the expectations of
investors and partners seeking impactful ventures. Elea Foundation had the opportunity
to witness firsthand how MazaoHub is transforming agriculture through
cutting-edge digital solutions and precision farming technologies.
MazaoHub’s vision is clear: to empower
farmers with tools, data, and support systems that help them overcome productivity
barriers while enhancing their livelihoods. Our approach blends #Tech and
#Touch to deliver data-driven agronomy services through AI-powered agronomy
solutions, geospatial data systems, and soil sensors. During this visit,
representatives from Elea Foundation gained a comprehensive view of how
MazaoHub integrates into the broader agricultural ecosystem, delivering
tangible value to both farmers and agribusinesses. This due diligence trip
highlighted our commitment to transparency, sustainable growth, and measurable

advancing agricultural development in Tanzania.
Visits to MazaoHub's Farmers Excellence
Center (FEC) at Ifakara
During our recent visit to Ifakara, we
hosted representatives from Elea Foundation at MazaoHub’s Farmers Excellence
Center (FEC), known as "Kliniki za Kilimo." These centers are more
than just tech hubs; they are places of trust and collaboration, where farmers
receive the personalized support they need. The visit was pivotal in showcasing
our work on the ground and giving Elea Foundation an in-depth view of our
operations.
The representatives engaged directly with
local farmers, listening to their experiences and observing their challenges
and successes. This created an atmosphere of open dialogue that underscored
MazaoHub’s "Tech and Touch" approach, where technology is
complemented by human connection and guidance. The event also included
interactive demonstrations of our data-driven agronomy services, allowing Elea
Foundation to witness firsthand how precision farming technology enhances
productivity and decision-making.
Mkulima Smart Shop: Scaling with Partner
Farmer Excellence Centers (FECs)
Scaling with partner Farmer Excellence
Centers (FECs) like Mkulima Smart Shop has proven to be a seamless and highly
effective process. By adopting MazaoHub’s agritech solutions with enthusiasm,
these FECs have become innovation hubs, seamlessly integrating our soil kits
and digital platforms into their operations. This allows them to provide
precise soil health assessments and leverage real-time data, empowering them to
advise farmers on optimal fertilizer use and crop management strategies.
This collaborative effort amplifies their
role as trusted advisors, equipped with advanced agritech tools that not only
boost farmer yields but also foster long-term, sustainable relationships. By
aligning with MazaoHub’s mission to empower farmers, these new partners are
rapidly becoming key drivers of agricultural success in rural areas.
Mbilinyi’s Transformation: From Agrovet
to Key MazaoHub Partner and Community Leader
We also visited Mr. Mbilinyi, an agrovet
who has fully embraced MazaoHub’s Point of Sale (POS) system and Farmer
Relationship Module. His journey from a traditional agrovet to a key partner
FEC is a testament to MazaoHub’s "Tech and Touch" model. The POS and
Farmer Relationship Module have allowed him to streamline his business
operations, track farmers' needs, and provide tailored recommendations based on
real-time data.
Mbilinyi’s shop has transformed into a
resource hub, offering precision soil health assessments and best practices for
crop management. His success exemplifies how our solutions not only
revolutionize local businesses but also empower individuals to uplift their
communities. His recent expansion into a two-room store and another business
venture demonstrates the lasting impact of MazaoHub’s support.
Farmer Engagement and Demonstrations
During our visit, we met farmers who have
been actively benefiting from MazaoHub's services. They shared heartfelt
testimonies about how our support has positively impacted their farming
practices. Many spoke about the regular visits they receive from MazaoHub’s
agronomists, which provide them with expert guidance on implementing best
farming practices. Additionally, the delivery of inputs directly to their farms
empowers them to approach farming with increased confidence and efficiency.
For instance, Teresia Kiwango, a tomato
farmer, mentioned that the expert advice and accurate soil testing services
have helped her make informed decisions about soil nutrition and fertilizer
application, ultimately improving her crop health and yields. Similarly, Mr.
Mabula Shingano, a watermelon farmer, shared how access to quality inputs and
continuous support from our agronomists has transformed his farming operations.
Both farmers emphasized the importance of MazaoHub’s soil testing services in
understanding and enhancing soil health, further aligning with our goal of
promoting regenerative and sustainable farming practices.
Outcome of the Visit
The visit from Elea Foundation was both
productive and insightful. Felix and Lisa expressed their gratitude for the
opportunity to engage with MazaoHub and gain a deeper understanding of our business
model and its impact on Tanzania’s agricultural ecosystem. They were
particularly impressed by our holistic approach, combining AI-powered
solutions, personalized agronomy support, and precision farming technologies.
Their excitement about our work was further strengthened by their interactions
with farmers and partners.
Looking ahead, discussions are underway to
explore potential areas of collaboration to scale MazaoHub’s impact. Elea
Foundation has shown a keen interest in increasing access to financial services
for smallholder farmers and expanding our Farmer Excellence Centers (FECs).
Their feedback and interest in deeper engagement validate MazaoHub's growth
trajectory and the value of our mission.
